iRiver, in collaboration with the French digital radio association DR France, is offering a DAB+ software update for its B20 DMB multimedia receiver.
In comparative DAB+/DMB trials carried out in Nantes and Paris by DR France members and other digital radio supporters, the B20 was able to pick up all the services transmitted from the Tour Pleyel tower in Paris.
Those interested in obtaining the upgrade can do so by contacting the DR France association. It was also possible to obtain an upgrade by attending a recent meeting in Paris to assess the results of the tests.
The meeting, which took place on 15 November, brought together the presidents of the WorldDMB and DRM consortiums with Rachid Arhab, president of the digital radio working group of the Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel (CSA), and manufacturers of digital radio chipsets, modules and receivers, which now represent 85 percent of all receivers sold in Europe.
