Portland, Ore.’s KFXX(AM) 1080 The Fan, an Entercom-owned ESPN affiliate, crushed last year’s haul in its third annual radiothon for Special Olympics Oregon.
The 28-hour event, Dec. 10–11, was hosted by Isaac Ropp and Jason “Suke” Scukanec of “Primetime With Isaac and Big Suke.” It raised over $120,000, which flew past last year’s amount by $45,000, according to a release.
Special Olympics Oregon Chief Development Officer Kim Bergstrom said: “Isaac and Suke’s radiothon helps raise funds to support year-round sports training and competition opportunities for thousands of individuals with intellectual disability. In addition, they generate immeasurable awareness of the importance of Special Olympics Oregon programs for athletes and their families.”
KFXX Program Director Jeff Austin said, “The overwhelming support of the FAN staff, our listeners, and advertisers was essential to surpassing our goal, and a testament to the bond Isaac and Suke have with their audience.”
