Private Italian network RTL 102.5 has chosen Systembase IP codecs to connect its studios in Milan and Rome.
According to the company, the C510ip codecs are providing the broadcaster a full duplex linear IP audio stream over a dedicated virtual private network. The forward error control feature of the C510ip helps to improve the audio quality of the link, the firm adds.
Morever, explains Systembase, the codecs are configured for automatic backup of the audio stream via ISDN in case the VPN develops a fault.
For remote status monitoring RTL 102.5 is employing the Systembase EasyMON network tool with additional alarms being delivered via email.
