JacAPPS Announces Plans for Kindle Fire

Developing line of apps for growing tablet brand

JacAPPS, the app building division of media consultancy Jacobs Media, has announced plans to begin developing a line of applications for Amazon’s tablet computer, the Kindle Fire.

The company’s decision was spurred by recognizing the device’s growing market, says Paul Jacobs, jacAPPS vice president and general manager.

“While iPads dominate the tablet market, the Kindle Fire represents a surge in high-functioning devices that combine accessing reading material with the app experience,” he said in a press release.

He went on to note the sale of 4 million Kindle Fires during 4Q 2011.
