Normally, a spiffing-up of a radio station’s website wouldn’t garner much notice.
But it’s the summertime news doldrums and the station in question went to the trouble of hiring a video production specialist firm to create a promotional video.
SoCal’s public radio powerhouse, KCRW(FM), is the station in question. To get attention for its new website, it hired the video production firm design Walter Robot. As if that wasn’t enough, it hooked Jack Black and David Lynch into participating in the animated video.
KCRW Digital Director Nathan Lubeck provides the boilerplate, “The new website is a giant leap forward for KCRW, bringing all our content to mobile devices through responsive design, and focusing our listeners on rich media experiences.”
KCRW says the website redesign is part of a $10 million investment in technology for the station.
