Jazz.FM91 Chooses Lawo

Nova router and crystal consoles make the cut

Jazz.FM91 Personality John Devenish, Host of ‘Dinner Jazz’ (left), and Technical Manager Murray Johnson (right) CJRT in Toronto, AKA Jazz.FM91, may be Canada’s only full-time jazz station. The nonprofit station has been undergoing a renovation lately.

The renovation has included the addition of four Lawo crystal digital consoles and a Nova 17 digital router.

Technical Manager Murray Johnson said, “The four crystal consoles, which range in size from 8 faders to 12 faders, and our new Nova 17 router have a wealth of features that will enable us to provide exceptional programming to our listeners while ensuring state-of-the-art functionality for our staff and guests.”

He added: “Out of necessity, we are cost-conscious with everything we do. We examine our technology investments very carefully, with an eye to the future. While there are other less expensive solutions, we’ve chosen to install this equipment because we believe it’s important, in terms of supporting our programs, that we have reliable equipment capable of providing a long service life.”

Concluding, “If you look at the value of the investment over the long term, we are confident that Lawo offers the best return on our investment.”
