John Reno, who spent most of his broadcast engineering career as an engineer for WFSB(TV), Hartford, Conn., passed away last week. He was 80.
Reno was active for many years with SBE 14. Fred Krampits, SBE 14 chair, said that Reno “had been our SBE Certification chairman as long as I can remember, over 20 years, and had been an SBE member since 1977.” He added, “He was willing to drive almost anywhere to give an exam, even before retiring as chief engineer from WFSB-TV. His calm demeanor and sense of humor helped relax us nervous test takers.”
