John Veronis Leaves Veronis Suhler Stevenson Management

He co-founded the finance investment firm in 1981

John Veronis, chairman and co-chief executive of private investment firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson, has left the company he co-founded in 1981 with John Suhler.

Veronis says he sold his interest to partners Suhler and Jeffrey Stevenson; he intends to fulfill his existing investment commitments to VSS funds as well to other funds in which he is a limited partner.

VSS invests buyout and mezzanine capital funds in the information and media and communications industries in North America and Europe.

Veronis intends to pursue other opportunities in the media, information and financial communities.

Stevenson, who joined the firm in 1982, will continue to serve as VSS managing partner and oversee its sponsored funds. Suhler continues as founding partner and president and will remain involved in the oversight and strategic direction of VSS, according to Veronis’ announcement.

VSS raised $312 million in 2008 for its second mezzanine fund, and $1.3 billion in 2005 to place into its various media, information, marketing and education companies.
