John Wright of Delta Dies

Passed away last month; was president of the electronics manufacturer

John Wright died in January. He was president of Delta Electronics. According to the Washington Post, Wright was 69; he died at his home in Fairfax County, Va., of congestive heart failure.

Delta makes radio broadcast equipment and high-frequency antennas. The employee-owned business was founded in 1962.

The Post reported Wright had worked for Delta since he moved to the United States from his native England in 1963. He started in the assembly department and later became manufacturing supervisor. He was president since 1987.

Wright served in the royal marines in the 1950s and 1960s; he competed as a boxer in the lightweight division while living in England, the Post reported. After he moved to the Washington area, he played for a rugby club until 1968. He later became a U.S. citizen.
