Jones Adds Programs to Support ‘HD Side Channels’

Commercial program supplier Jones Radio Networks is out with programming products marketed specifically to Internet streaming and HD multicasters.
“JRN clients can now receive custom programming in any genre, from mainstream formats to unique niches,” it stated. “The formats are delivered hands free via Jones Content Delivery System.”
NPR was the first organization to announce plans to provide programs aimed at multicasting, part of its Tomorrow Radio initiatives. Westwood One and PRI have also announced multicasting programs.
Jones’ EVP/COO Jim LaMarca said, “It’s a very exciting time. All of the new technology helps stations offer new content and extend their brand on a variety of platforms, not just AM/FM.”
