Journal Expands Relationship With Hipcricket

Deal involves reaching audiences on their mobile devices

Hipcricket said Journal Broadcast Group will use its mobile marketing products at its 46 TV and radio stations.

The supplier company said Journal chose it as its exclusive corporate partner. They’ve had a business relationship since 2007, with six stations using the Hipcricket offerings.

Hipcricket does supplies technology and services to create mobile ad and promotional campaigns. The platform includes analytics tools that allow stations to monitor campaigns, measure and analyze results and make campaign or program changes in real time.

As an example, WTMJ(AM) in Milwaukee and its sister TV station use Hipcricket for their School Closure Alerts. Audience members receive text and e-mail alerts when schools close due to weather.
