Journal Broadcast Group recently purchased six Harris Corp. HD Radio transmitters for radio stations in Oklahoma and Kansas. Harris is the exclusive provider of HD-Radio equipment for Journal Broadcast Group with 11 transmitters now installed in four other markets.

The group is acquiring Harris FlexStar HD Radio products — HDI-100 importers, HDE-100 exporters and HDx exciters — for five FM stations, plus a Harris Dexstar exciter for AM HD Radio operations. The stations will also take advantage of the Harris training program.

Installation of the transmitters in Wichita, Kan., and Tulsa, Okla., will be performed by Journal Broadcast engineering staff and is expected to be completed in October.
