JVC Expands in Florida

Media Logic acquires Colorado and Nebraska properties

Media Services Group has announced several sales that it has brokered.

In Florida, JVC Media/JVC Broadcasting has acquired Asterisk Communications’ Gainesville/Ocala, Fla., cluster. The stations are WMFQ(FM), WTRS(FM), WYGC(FM) and WXJZ(FM). The price is said to be $3.5 million.

According to a release JVC will also sell its Gainesville/Ocala, Fla.-based WBXY(FM) to RMA Media for $500,000. JVC was operating the Asterisk stations previous to purchasing them.

MSG’s Jacksonville, Fla.-based George Reed was the broker.

Out West Media Logic is acquiring KSTC(AM), KNNG(FM), Sterling, Colo., and KNEC(FM), Yuma, Colo., from Arnold Broadcasting. An unnamed translator based in Sidney, Neb., is also included ihn the $750,000 deal. The broker was Jody McCoy of MSG’s Colorado Springs, Colo., office.

And continuing a recent theme, Curtis Media’s Eastern Airwaves subsidiary has purchased translator W226BP in Laurinburg, N.C. The seller was Church Planters of America and the price was $25,000. The broker was Bob Heymann out of Chicago.
