Sirius Satellite Radio President/CEO Mel Karmazin told attendees of a financial conference he’d like to buy competitor XM Satellite Radio were it not for price and regulatory hurdles, Reuters reported.
“From our point of view, we don’t see – other than if it was in the best interests of our shareholders – that we would be interested ever in being acquired,” according to the report, which said Karmazin spoke at a financial conference in New York.
Meanwhile, Sirius reported that more than one million subscribers are listening to its Playboy Radio channel that debuted in March. Sirius Canada launched the channel earlier this month.
