Collegiate Broadcasters Inc. moved its national convention, originally scheduled for New Orleans, to Kansas City in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
CBI, along with the College Media Advisors and the Associated College Press, expect 2,500 students and advisors at the city’s Crown Center Complex from Oct. 26-30.
About 85 broadcasting sessions and CBI’s National Awards Presentations were scheduled to take place in New Orleans. “We are confident we will be able to present a similar schedule in Kansas City,” said Ron Bland, CBI vice chairman.
CBI says attendees also may be interested in the NPR Next Generation Journalism Project, with a live webcast from the convention hotel.
