KDKA Looks for Hometown Heroes

Larry Richert is looking for a few good folks

Larry Richert and Pittsburgh’s KDKA(AM) are looking for five local people “who have stood out for their service to the community or for extraordinary acts of heroism,” for the second annual Larry Richert Honors our Hometown Heroes.

Richert said: “In our first outing last year, our heroes were amazing and inspirational people … Again this year we’re looking for people who do what they do without expecting recognition. These are your friends and neighbors who may have changed a life or lives with a simple act … or something they may do on a daily basis.”

The five will be honored at a March 6 dinner and will have $1,000 donated to the charity of their choice. Proceeds of the dinner from ticket sales will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Nominations are due by Dec. 31.
