Kenwood-Harris Connection Proves Fruitful

Kenwood says it’s selling a fair amount of HD Radios through its Harris connection. On average, broadcasters are ordering about four radios per station install: one each for the station GM, CE, PD, and a station demo car, according to Mike Bergman, vice president, New Digital Technologies, Kenwood USA.
Since the fall NAB Radio Show, Harris Broadcast has been offering customers who purchase HD Radio equipment the chance to bundle select Kenwood models into one equipment purchase, we’ve previously reported.
Harris is stocking the Kenwood EZ500 and KTC-HR100TR HD Radio and/or HD Radio-ready receivers. Kenwood has made the entire range of HD Radio/HD Radio-ready receivers available to Harris except its premium line, Kenwood Excelon.
“We’ll have instant delivery on the HD Radios we stock,” said Hal Kneller, manager, Public Radio Initiatives for the Harris Broadcast Communications Division. He said stations can order as many radios as they want from Harris. The idea is to have inventory available so customers “can get radios quickly.”
