KFAX Holds Concert at San Quentin for Fundraising Efforts

On Dec. 11, Salem station KFAX(AM) in San Francisco will fill San Quentin prison’s Protestant chapel with live Christmas music performed by the Well Church Gospel Choir.
The station says the concert serves as a “thank you” for the efforts of inmates who helped drive donations for Angel Tree, a charity that supports children of inmates.
Its volunteers deliver gifts to children of prisoners, in the name of their incarcerated parent, in an effort to connect the child with their parent and establish a relationship that will help to keep the child out of trouble.
Inmates made phone calls to Bay Area residents last November asking for help. KFAX took over fundraising efforts in December.
