KGY(AM) in Olympia, Wash. will soon begin using a new tower to improve its signal.
The Olympianreports a new tower has been erected close to the old one, which will be torn down. Though 2 feet shorter than its predecessor, the tower sits 15 to 20 feet taller because it’s on higher ground, the paper quotes CE Tom Trotzer as saying.
Last month, the FCC approved a lease agreement for KGY that will keep the station in its current facility for at least five more years.
