Bureau restructures its training services

The Radio Advertising Bureau has made a structural change, consolidating its training and educational member services into one group.

RAB hired radio sales executive Sheila Kirby to lead the group. She will have the title of senior vice president, professional development, a new position, with the goal of supporting the radio industry’s sales managers in growing their revenue. She begins the post Feb. 1, 2011.

Kirby’s been on the RAB board for four years and chaired the organization’s Sales and Management Conference. She was senior vice president of talent development for Tribune Sales Solutions overseeing training and development for Tribune’s publishing and interactive divisions. Before that she was president of strategic sales development for Interep.

According to the announcement, Kirby will establish a cohesive professional development group across all of RAB’s training services. She also is expected to work with industry leadership to develop a professional development practice in support of radio’s evolving sales force.
