KLOS-FM in Los Angeles, at 99.5 on the dial, will create and broadcast what it says is the first Fusion Hispanic/Anglo Rock format in the world when the station premiers its HD2 digital radio channel this July of this year.
The bilingual Fusion Hispanic/Anglo Rock format, which is being created and implemented by KLOS, will blend American and British rock with Spanish rock, “creating a revolutionary new sound that will forever change the landscape of terrestrial radio in southern California,” says PD Rita Wilde.
“We’re creating this fun and exciting new sound with our ears and our hearts,” said Wilde, “rather than replicating something that is already available.”
The ABC/Disney-owned station joined the HD Radio Alliance earlier this year.
President/GM John Davison said ,”We believe we’ve come up with a sound that compliments the classic rock format of KLOS, and is properly suited for the musical tastes of the ethnically diverse market that is southern California.”
