Chet Buchanan, host of “Chet Buchanan and the Morning Zoo” on CBS Radio’s KLUC(FM), is ascending the scaffold in Las Vegas.

But it’s not to be executed or participate in a Vegas show but rather to raise toys and cash for the 15th annual “Chet Buchanan and the Morning Zoo Toy Drive.” He’ll be outside the NV Energy building for 12 days, Dec. 5–16, on the 30-foot scaffolding. It can get cold at night in the desert.

Last year, according to a release, Buchanan collected 18 truckloads of toys, 3,280 bikes and $268,000 in cash and gift cards. He’s collected some of that loot from resident Vegas performers like Criss Angel and Pawn Stars Rick Harrison and Chumlee Russell, along with people who actually live in Las Vegas such as Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.
