Buzz Knight has been upped to senior vice president of program development at Greater Media.
He will oversee programming development for all of Greater Media’s radio properties and help to collaborate with the individual stations to create content, digital and brand management strategies.
Knight has been with Greater Media since February 2002. He was most recently vice president of program development. Prior to that, he worked as program director at stations, including CBS Radio Boston’s WZLX(FM), Saga Communications Norfolk’s WNOR(FM) and Great American Columbus’ WLVQ(FM). He also worked as on-air talent for WNEW(FM) in New York City and began his broadcasting career at WRKI in Fairfield County, Conn., after graduating from the University of Dayton.
He is a member of the Council for Research Excellence, where he currently serves as the chair of the audio committee. He is also a member of the Nielsen Advisory Council and the National Association of Broadcasters COLRAM Committee and has also served on the programming subcommittee of the National Association of Broadcasters.
Greater Media Inc. is the parent company of 21 AM and FM radio stations in the Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, New Jersey and Philadelphia markets. The company also owns a group of weekly newspapers and several telecommunications towers.
