KNOM(AM/FM) staff display the station’s five Crystal Awards. KNOM(AM/FM) of Nome, Alaska, will receive a Crystal Heritage Award at the spring NAB Show in Las Vegas.
General Manager Ric Schmidt said, “This recognition helps to reinvigorate and encourage the KNOM staff and volunteers as we struggle to serve listeners in a 100,000 square mile signal area of remote Western Alaska.”
Crystal Heritage Awards “recognize a radio station’s long-term commitment to community service” according to the announcement. The award also requires a station to have won five Crystal Awards. Last year KNOM won its fifth.
The Crystal Radio Awards will be presented at the Radio Luncheon, April 9. The luncheon is sponsored by ASCAP.
