KTCM Fined $39,000

The FCC reaffirmed a fine of $39,000 against Maria Salazar, licensee of station KTCM(FM), Kingman, Kansas, for operating a station from an unauthorized location; failing to maintain proper tower lighting; failing to install and maintain EAS equipment; failing to maintain a main studio at an authorized location; and failing to maintain a public inspection file.
The agency stated that when it found Salazar apparently liable in July, she did not respond. The Enforcement Bureau will conduct a follow-p investigation to determine whether Salazar has come into compliance and, the order states, “if she has not, to take or recommend further enforcement action as appropriate, including the possibility of initiating a license revocation proceeding.”
Salazar has 30 days to pay the fine.
