In the spirit of the season, KUUR(FM) in Aspen, Colo. is working with Radio Mawwal 101.7 FM in Bethlehem to provide Christmas programming.
A release explains, “The station typically airs world music and pop music from around the world. This year they will air the same Christmas music that is featured on KUUR this week, along with messages from morning DJ Larry Thompson wishing listeners, ‘Merry Christmas from Aspen, Colorado.’”
The release also says that KUUR CEO Marcos Rodriguez was inspired to make the Aspen–Bethlehem connection after spending Christmas Eve in Bethlehem two years ago, “I was surprised to discover that Christmas music was popular in Bethlehem and, of course, was overwhelmed with the historical connection.”
