Spanish Broadcasting System said it enjoyed a 7.1% increase in net revenues from continuing operations in the third quarter. For the year, net revenue is up 14.7%. The company says its increases this year are “mostly attributable” to growth in revenues from its Los Angeles stations.
CEO Raúl Alarcón said, “Excluding the extra week in (the) prior year’s third quarter, our net revenues increased approximately 16%.” He also reported “substantial progress” in boosting ratings at properties in Puerto Rico. SBS excluded from its numbers any results involving the recently concluded AOL Time Warner barter agreement. The company has 24 radio stations.
