For the main music and master control rooms at the recent Eurovision Song Contest, event organizer Yleisradio (YLE) rented Lawo technology.
The Finnish public broadcaster contracted equipment-hire company Audio Broadcast Services (ABS), a subsidiary of Lawo, to provide consoles and a routing system for the duration of the event, which was won by Marija Šerifovic of Serbia with her ballad “Molitva.”
The rental installation included a Nova73 HD routing system and four Lawo consoles.
ABS supplied a Lawo mc²90 console for the main music control room. This sent a 5.1 surround mix to an YLE OB vehicle where a Lawo mc²66 console added atmosphere and presenter feeds.
Two other YLE-owned OB trucks, fitted with mc²80 and mc80 consoles, were in place for radio broadcasts and as a backup.
