LeSea Rejoins, Nexstar Broadcasting Joins NAB

The latest to come into, or back into, the fold

The NAB is shining its spotlight on the latest companies to sign up for membership in the trade association.

LeSea Broadcasting and Nexstar Broadcasting Group have, respectively, rejoined and joined the National Association of Broadcasters, it announced late last week.

LeSea has three FMs and seven TV stations; Nexstar owns 34 local television stations.

“LeSea is proud to re-join NAB at this critical moment for our industry,” stated LeSEA Broadcasting President Peter Sumrall in the announcement. “With a multitude of issues facing free and local radio and TV broadcasters, it is paramount that we speak with a united voice.”

The announcement follows recent news that CBS Corp. and Fox Broadcasting were members; and NAB — which had seen some high-profile, well-reported network departures from its ranks in years past — announced this spring that 90 additional radio and television stations had joined or rejoined.
