Listener Participation Stressed for Houston HD2 Channel

Christian outlet NGEN to launch officially Nov. 18

A new HD2 channel in Houston gives listeners a role in music selection.

Contemporary Christian music station KSBJ(FM) plans an HD2 channel that it says will provide an “entertainment experience for the NOW generation.” Officials say listeners will get a chance to select some of the music and discussion topics. It will be called “NGEN.”

KSBJ President/GM Tim McDermott states they’ve been hoping to do a channel aimed at youth for years; with HD Radio, he said in the announcement, they can accomplish that. “It is our hope NGEN will capture the energy of today’s youth as well as power a world of good.”

Listeners can stay up to date on NGEN details at the website, Facebook and Twitter. The launch is scheduled for Nov. 18 at the TobyMac Winter Wonder Slam Tour at Reed Arena in College Station.

On the main HD channel, the station is giving away an HD Radio receiver each day in November to promote the new outlet.

Listeners can hear NGEN on 89.3 HD2 in Houston and 92.5 KWUP HD2 in Bryan/College Station, Texas. Additionally, listeners can tune in on FM analog receivers through 93.3 MHz in Bryan/College Station and 99.7 in Brenham, Texas.
