Listeners Log On During Lunch

Lunchtime is the peak of Internet radio listening, reports MeasureCast in its weekly Top 25 Internet Radio ratings.
34 percent of Internet radio listening during the week of Feb. 12 to 18 occurred midday, between noon and 4 p.m. EST. The peak listening time was 3 p.m. EST, when nine percent of all listening occurred.
La Mega, a Spanish language formatted station, moved up to the No. 2 spot this week from the No.3 last week. Spanish remains the second most listened to format, according to MeasureCast. News/Talk is the most popular, as WABC.com demonstrates week after week. In this week’s report, it is once again the top station, with almost 17 percent most “Aggregate Tuning Hours” than its nearest competitor, La Mega.
As is the case almost every week, Thursday was the most popular day for Internet radio listening, when 19 percent of all listening for the week occurred. And 11 stations on the MeasureCast Internet Radio Top 25 list recorded an increase in the total number of hours streamed compared to the previous week.
