Lone Star Broadcasters Elect Officers

Nexstar’s Jones elected chairman; new board members added

The Texas Association of Broadcasters elected officers and directors at its recent convention, Aug. 11.

The new TAB Chairman is Brian Jones (shown), EVP and Co-COO of Nexstar Broadcasting Group. New vice chairman is Mary “Mike” Hatcher, senior account executive, Bryan Broadcasting, Bryan-College Station. Mike Lee, GM of KXXV (TV) in Waco is the new secretary while Chris Paddie, GM of KMHT (AM/FM) in Marshall is the treasurer.

Newly elected board members are Evan Armstrong, Clear Channel Radio Waco-Temple-Killeen; Steve Comer, Broadcast Works, Tyler; Jerry Hanszen, KGAS(AM), Carthage; John Hiatt, KDCD(FM)/KMDX(FM), San Angelo; Terry Hucks, KELI(FM)/KGKL(FM)/KKCN(FM)/KNRX(FM), San Angelo; Alan Kirshbom, KAMX(FM)/KJCE(AM)/KKMJ(FM), Austin; Doug Robertson, Broadcast Pix, Austin; and Joe Young, KDAF(TV), Dallas-Fort Worth.

Re-elected board members are Tony DeMars, Texas A&M Commerce, Commerce; Mark Krieschen, Cox Radio Houston; Julie Pruett, KFDX(TV)/KJTL(TV)/KJBO(TV), Wichita Falls; Gary Schneider, KTVT(TV)/KTXA(TV), Dallas-Fort Worth; Mike Wenglar, KVUE(TV), Austin; and Rodney Zent, KAMU(FM and TV), College Station.

Jones, the new chairman, called TAB “a dynamic, influential and tireless group of Texas radio and television broadcasters who are leaders in every way.”
