The Voice of America appointed Losang Gysato as chief of VOA’s Tibetan Service.
Gysato will oversee the service’s daily radio and weekly television news and information programs, effective May 29.
Gysato has a background in media, advertising and management and is the director of the Mechak Center for Contemporary Tibetan Art in Boulder, Colo. Previously he served as the senior vice president for Lintas New York (now Lowe Worldwide) where he directed a staff creating marketing communications for radio, TV and print.
Gysato replaces John Buescher, Ph.D., who is retiring after 16 years.
