Michael Lynton, chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, has been named as interim presiding governor of the Broadcasting Board of Governors.
Lynton was a member of the board before the appointment.
The search for a permanent chairman continues. The previous chairman, Walter Isaacson, resigned at the end of January. The BBG oversees the Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Alhurra TV, Radio Sawa, Radio Free Asia, Radio Martí and TV Martí.
