Lynton Named BBG Interim Presiding Governor

Current governor and chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment takes reins

Michael Lynton, chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, has been named as interim presiding governor of the Broadcasting Board of Governors.

Lynton was a member of the board before the appointment.

The search for a permanent chairman continues. The previous chairman, Walter Isaacson, resigned at the end of January. The BBG oversees the Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Alhurra TV, Radio Sawa, Radio Free Asia, Radio Martí and TV Martí.
