Michigan Association of Broadcasters announced dates and events for its annual convention, and says sessions will focus on industry changes and the state economy.
The Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference and Expo takes place March 10–11 in Grand Rapids. Themed “Michigan Broadcasting: A Sure Bet,” MAB says GLBC 2008 has been redesigned with elements that have been requested by broadcasters such as an interactive exhibit hall, which will feature 90 exhibitors, and seminars with nationally known speakers.
Additional GLBC highlights include “The Future of Michigan’s Economy: A Dialogue With Michigan Industry Sector Giants,” March 11 at 8:30 a.m.; The Broadcast Excellence Awards Presentation, which recognizes news, programming and public service performances by state radio and TV stations; the MAB Foundation Career Fair; and the MAB Foundation’s Michigan High School and College Broadcast Awards.
