MAB Retreat Focuses on Digital

Presentations include “The Next Generation of HD Radio” featuring Kitsa Lee of Ibiquity, who says radio stations need to stay ahead of the learning curve by understanding what is next in HD Radio technology.

Also on the agenda is “Technically Speaking With NAB’s David Layer.” The director of advanced engineering for the National Association of Broadcasters will talk about what the organization is doing to prepare stations for the next generation of broadcast media.

Ross Biederman, president and general manager of Midwestern Broadcasting Co., will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductees include Thomas Bender, regional GM and senior vice president for Greater Media Detroit; P. Thomas Bryson, president/GM of WJRT(TV) in Flint; Gary A. Reid, University Distinguished Senior Specialist in the Department of Telecommunications, Information Studies and Media at Michigan State University; and Stephen Trivers, former president and GM of Fairfield Broadcasting Co. in Kalamazoo.
