MABF Board Elects New Officers

Officers, elected to a one-year term, include Chairman Bruce Goldsen of Jackson Radio Works.

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters’ Foundation elected officers to lead the MABF board of directors for 2008.

Officers, elected to a one-year term, include Chairman Bruce Goldsen of Jackson Radio Works; Vice Chairman/Chairman Elect Charles F. Ganzert, Ph.D, Northern Michigan University; Secretary/Treasurer Chris Monk, Citadel Broadcasting, Flint/Saginaw; and Immediate Past Chairman Gary Reid, Michigan State University.

Goldsen is president and general manager of WKHM(AM-FM) and WIBM(AM)/Jackson Radio Works in Jackson.

Ganzert is an associate professor at Northern Michigan University, as well as the faculty advisor for the student station WUPX(FM).

Monk is with Citadel Broadcasting as the general manager for its Saginaw and Flint operations, which include six radio stations.

Reid is the director of undergraduate studies for the Department of Telecommunication at Michigan State University, and general manager of WDBM(FM).

Newly elected board members to the MAB Foundation: Julie Koehn, WLEN(FM), Adrian; and Matt Kreiner, WEYI(TV), Flint. Board members elected for another three-year term: Rob David, Handyman Productions; Dave Downing, WLNZ(FM)/Lansing Community College; Dick Kernen, Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts; Elaine Baker, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; and Larry Patrick, Patrick Communications.

Board members moving from a director position to an honorary director: Tom Bryson, WJRT(TV), Flint; and Tom Scanlan, Scanlan Communications.
