Mackie Debuts Satellite System, Commander C4

Mackie Debuts Satellite System, Commander C4

Mackie debuted the Satellite FireWire Recording System , which it says is designed for digital recording. It features a two-part audio interface for live and studio recording.
The hub of the system is the Satellite Pod, a portable two-channel FireWire interface that incorporates two Mackie Onyx preamps, and 24-bit/96 kHz A/D and D/A converters. Pod features include dual headphone/control room outputs with individual level controls, two inputs, two outputs and a rugged portable design.
The Satellite Pod can be docked into a Satellite Base Station, which provides AC power, additional I/O, talkback and monitor switching functions. When combined, the company says, the Satellite System becomes a two-input, six-output FireWire audio interface with advanced routing matrix, talkback microphone, advanced monitoring functions and surround speaker control.
Mackie also introduced the C4 Commander Hardware Control Software for its Control C4.
C4 Commander is a software companion product for the Control C4 plug-in and virtual instrument controller that allows users to control hardware MIDI devices such as keyboards, sound modules, guitar PODs and effect processors via the Control C4.
