Mackie Recorder Works With Pro Tools

Mackie Designs’ HDR24/96 hard disk recorder is now compatible with Macintosh computer-based Digidesign Pro Tools digital audio workstations through the recently released HDR Pro hardware/software upgrade package from Mackie.
The HDR Pro package contains a copy of HDR Pro software and an outboard Mackie Media M90 drive bay that can be connected to any Mac-based Pro Tools workstation via an on-board FireWire interface. The upgrade will enable the HDR24/96 to use Pro Tools DAWs in versions 3.x to 5.x.
Users can export audio files in a given HDR Project as Sound Designer II (.sd2) files and create a Pro Tools EDL (Edit Decision List) file based on edits conducted using the HDR’s graphical user interface. This Pro Tools session can be exported to a Mackie Media M90 and transferred to a Pro Tools system via the outboard FireWire drive bay that accommodates the removable M90 drive. HDR Pro also allows a Pro Tools session to be imported into an HDR Project using the same transfer method.
