Shameless or genius marketing? Call it what you will, but is there any doubt there’ll be more of mstyleradio in the future? A release says “mstyleradio will be the home of today’s top hits, fashion expertise and fun experiences.”
Mstyleradio is a co-op project between Clear Channel Media and Entertainment and Macy’s. It is a multiplatform, exclusive channel that will appear on iHeartRadio, as a mobile app and inside 700 Macy’s stores, specifically the mstylelab Junior’s and Young Men’s departments. Yes, the targets of this fashion-oriented play are young men.
The companies said a crew of live DJs would fill 15 hours a day, seven days a week. According to a release, the station will be promoted on other Clear Channel properties, along with other digital, print and social media.
Macy’s will own 100% of the ad time on the CHR-formatted station.
Macy’s Chief Marketing Officer Martine Reardon said, mstyleradio will allow Macy’s to connect with the millennial audience through mobile devices, online or in stores, “delivering fresh and exciting content that speaks to this customer and allows us to leverage our entertainment and fashion expertise.”
