Maire Mason Joins Merlin

Radio vet to head sales at Big Apple station

The recently formed Merlin Media has announced the appointment of NYC radio veteran Maire Mason as director of sales for the company’s WRXP(FM) station in New York City.

Mason was most recently vice president director of sales for Univision Radio, New York. She has more than two decades of experience, including stints at WCBS(FM), WNEW(FM) and WXRK(FM).

Merlin Media was formed by private equity investor GTCR, Emmis Communications and radio executive Randy Michaels. The broadcast group is buying Emmis properties in New York (WRXP) and Chicago (WLUP[FM] and WKQX[FM]). Last month Merlin announced the addition of Walter Sabo as COO and former Sirius/XM Creative Director Jerry Rohira as vice president of production.
