Mark Olds has died.
He was a prominent broadcast executive who worked in major markets like New York, Chicago, St. Louis and Cleveland, and helped give Phil Donahue his start. Olds also earned the Purple Heart in World War II, when he served during the Battle of the Bulge.
At his retirement he was president of Riverside Broadcasting Co. Olds also taught broadcasting and other topics at Fordham University. According to an obituary in the Port Washington News, Olds was 88 at his death.
