Consumer awareness of DAB digital radio in the United Kingdom stands at 59% of
the adult population, or 29 million people.
That’s according to the Digital Radio Development Bureau, which markets the Eureka-147 digital radio technology there. Research conducted on behalf of the DRDB in January showed a year-on-year increase in awareness of 16 percentage points, up from 43% in January 2004, according to the marketing group.
DRDB Chief Executive Ian Dickens says the DRDB would like to see 1.2 million DAB radios sold in 2005.
