FCC Chairman Kevin Martin named Dr. Kent Nilsson as acting inspector general and Jon Stover as acting deputy inspector general. Nilsson replaces Inspector General Horace Walker Feaster III, who retired on Jan. 3.
Nilsson was special counsel and deputy chief of the Network Technology Division in the FCC Office of Engineering and Technology. He is former deputy chief of the Network Services Division in the Common Carrier Bureau, now called the Wireline Competition Bureau.
Stover was special advisor to the director of the commission’s Office of Legislative Affairs after having served as senior counsel in the Wireline Competition Bureau and in the Office of General Counsel. Before joining the agency, Stover was a partner in an energy litigation firm after having served as chief of staff and chief counsel to the chairman of the Interstate Commerce Commission.
