Technology from Mayah Communications will play a key role in the broadcasting of 2007–2008 UEFA Champions League football matches.
Turin, Italy-based broadcast service provider DeltaTre Group purchased a total of eight Centauri II 3000 Audio Gateway units to deliver commentator voices during all Champions League matches to various international broadcasters.
To ensure the broadest compatibility possible, the Mayah units will mostly use MPEG Layer II encoding. For the same reason, an optional ISDN interface is installed in each of the Centauri II units delivered to DeltaTre by A&DT, the Italian distributor of Mayah products.
