Mays, Kennedy to Speak on NAB Indecency Panel

Broadcasters’ answer to the indecency crackdown, the Responsible Programming Task Force, will feature a panel on programming at the NAB convention.
The session, titled “Come Together, Right Now! Broadcaster Town Meeting on Indecency & Responsible Programming,” will be held April 19.
CNN’s Jeff Greenfield will moderate a discussion among a group of CEOs that includes David Kennedy of Susquehanna Media; Mark Mays of Clear Channel; David Barrett of Hearst-Argyle Television; Gary Chapman of LIN Television; Jeff Smulyan of Emmis; and Tony Vinciquerra of Fox Networks Group. The panel will also feature Vicky Rideout, vice president of the Kaiser Family Foundation.
Among other things, the broadcast industry panelists are expected to discuss voluntary initiatives taken by their respective companies in response to indecency concerns.
