McCain, Kerrey: 'No frivolous LPFM Complaints'

The LPFM legislation introduced by Sens. McCain and Kerrey authorizes the FCC to impose punitive damages if the FCC finds out an interference complaint against an LPFM is “frivolous and without any merit or purpose other than to impede … LPFM service.”
The bill, called the “Low Power Radio act of 2000” calls for the commission to take an LPFM off the air if that station is interfering with a full power station. It does not call for changes in interference protections.
