German transmission provider Media Broadcast has announced that it plans to expand its national DAB+ network from 61 to 110 transmitter sites by the end of 2016.
Part of the expansion will also see facilities added to the Loebau, Aurich and Cottbus regions.
According to German-language Pro Media News, the expansion will see the range of national digital radio rise to 82 percent of the population for at-home reception and 92 percent for mobile reception. In addition, 98 percent of the country’s federal motorways will be covered by digital radio.
Media Broadcast is expected to announce additional locations being added in the near future.
