As of March 24 the Media Network blog will be no more.
Web editor Andy Sennitt announced that he is retiring, and the Media Network Blog will cease to exist.
“Due to the new mandate of Radio Nederlands Worldwide (RNW) effective Jan. 1 2013, it will no longer be possible for the organization to provide coverage of international media news,” said Sennitt.
Focused on international media developments, the Media Network Weblog, which contains more than 15,000 media news items published since Oct. 2003, will remain online as a searchable archive.
Sennitt said that he will be writing a series of articles reflecting on the changes in international broadcasting since he started appearing on the Media Network radio show in 1981, and is looking ahead to the coming decade. The articles will be published on the RNW English website.
