The FCC has reaffirmed a $6,000 fine against Media Broadcasting Corporation for failing to have red obstruction lighting on its tower and not posting an antenna registration number. Media is the licensee of WAAA(AM), Winston-Salem, NC. Media was supposed to either correct the violations or dismantle the tower. Media claimed financial hardship, but the FCC said that was not proven. The agency also said the company took a year to dismantle the tower, “an unacceptably long delay.”
